SOCIAL INEQUALITY
Social inequality can exist over physical (spatial stratification) or socioeconomic borders (social class). These contribute to differences in health and healthcare access between different populations. Your position in society affects your relationship with health and medicine.
When it comes to health, your behavior and your place in society is as important to consider as your biology. The biology tells us that you are a collection of electrical impulses organized into complex patterns such that thought and consciousness are produced.
But you’re more than that. You are the sum of your memories, thoughts, actions, and experiences. You can write those experiences down and transmit them to other people. And you can read and understand what other people write. Welcome to the CARS section of the MCAT.
