ATOMIC STRUCTURE

Atoms are made of a positively charged nucleus and negatively charged electrons. The electronic structure of an atom determines its physical and chemical properties. Elements are sorted based on electron structure into the groups and periods of the periodic table, and react predictably based on periodic trends, for example, elements on the left side of the periodic table are more likely to donate electrons to elements on the right. Atoms react and combine to form molecules and we keep track of reactants and products of a reaction using stoichiometry.

So molecules are made up of atoms, which are made of electric charges. And molecules then react to form biomolecules, which are the building blocks of your cells and your organs, and your entire body. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We are still in the realm of Physics.
